• Creating a national standard

"We devised a training programme for healthcare company representatives providing technical support to clinical teams within the operating theatre. The course taught and examined the practical, legal and clinical aspects of working in a hospital environment.

Accreditation from Edexcel transformed our programme into a national training standard - the BTEC Professional Award in Access to Operating Theatres, which is now recommended throughout the medical devices industry and used by hospitals to ensure that they meet their own legislative requirements.

The Edexcel customised framework has enabled us to make a worthwhile contribution to healthcare standards.
